Cheap Computers RAM

Contrary to the hard drive, the storage of data in cheap computers RAM is temporary because every time you shutdown or reboot your pc you will lose all the data in the RAM (Random Access Memory.
How the RAM works
Cheap computers RAM consists of thousands of small electronic parts called condensers. When charged, the logical state of the condensers are equal to 1, and to 0 when they are discharged, which means that each condenser represents a bit of memory.
Being given that the condensers should constantly be reloaded (the exact term is refresh) with an interval of regular time called cycle of cooling. this is why the RAM stored data only when the computer is on. Types of cheap computers RAM
Types of DRAM(Dynamic RAM)
DRAM is commonly use as the main memory in computer.
• DRAM PM (dynamic RAM page mode)
The DRAM is the most widespread type of memory. It is a memory whose transistors are arranged in a matrix according to lines and columns. A transistor, coupled to a condenser gives the information of 1 bit,(one byte equals 8 bits.). A memory module DRAM of 256 Mb (mega byte) will thus contain 256 000 000*8 bits is 2 048 000 000 (256000000*8) transistors. These are memories whose access time is 60ns.
• DRAM FPM (fast page mode)
To speed up the access to the DRAM, there is a technique, called pagination consisting to locate data within the same column by modifying only the address of the row, which makes it possible to avoid the repetition of the number of column between the readings of each row. Click on this link to buy
• DRAM EDO (extended data out)
DRAM EDO appeared in 1995. The technique used with this type of memory consists in addressing the following column during the reading of the data of a column. You can gain more performance with EDO memory.
• SDRAM (synchronous DRAM)
The SDRAM, appeared in 1997, allows a reading of the data synchronized with the bus of the motherboard, contrary to EDO and FPM memories, which have their own clock. The SDRAM is faster and more expensive than DRAM. The SDRAM has an access time of 10ns.
SDRAM is the most commonly used type of DRAM in computers. to use SDRAM memory modules, Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) support is required on the motherboard. Nowadays all motherboards are equiped with DIMM support.
What you need to know about RAM
Most of the newer computer systems accommodate 184-pin DDR- SDRAM (Double Data Rate) DIMMS (Dual In-Line Memory Module) clocking in at various speeds, such as DDR333MHZ or DDR400MHZ. You will also see memory expressed by its bandwidth such as PC2700 or PC3200.
The cheap computers RAM you choose depends on the motherboard and CPU you use. You should always choose the fastest memory module that’s compatible with both the motherboard and processor. DDR2 memory, a faster version of DDR is now available. However, you can only use DDR2 on systems equipped with the latest Intel chip sets.
